Enjoy nature in the Luxembourg Ardennes
Luxemburg is one of the smallest European countries, coming second only after Malta. Located in the Northwest of Europe, Luxembourg neighbours Belgium, France and Germany. In the Northern Eislek region, we find the village of Enscherange and our own Val d'Or, at the border of the Ardennes region which ends just thirty kilometers to the south at the picturesque Esch-sur-Sure. The Eislek region harbours a great variety of natural beauty, from green hills and valleys to seemingly endless fields of wheat and the occasional packs of cows, horses and sheep. Val d'Or itself is situated between the village of Enscherange and the valley's hillside, offering you ample opportunity to enjoy the natural splendor. Across from the camp site lie green forested hills which provide a wonderful view of the valley, a worthwhile destination for any trekking, mountain biking or motor cycling trip.
Springtime comes about fast in the lush valley and dusk is late to set in the autumn time still. The valley has few obstructions to the sunlight and has a land climate. The summer's temperatures are about equal to those in Belgium and the Southern Netherlands. Although the summer's days are warm and sunlit, it rarely becomes hot and humid in this region, a perfect climate for an active holiday or a relaxing weekend's outing.
