From the campsite you can discover the natural beauty of Luxembourg in a sporty way: canoeing, motorcycling, hiking, fishing, cycling and also mountain biking.
From the campsite you can explore several hiking trails, with varying heights and lengths. Every season, it is definitely worth taking a hike in the beautiful surroundings of the campsite. Many of the routes can easily be shortened, or you can walk part of them and return by train halfway to Wilwerwiltz station, which is only 1.7 km from the campsite.
There are several places to canoe in Luxembourg, both on rivers and lakes. The nearest canoe rental near the campground is at Ronn's Bikes & Kayaks in Wallendorf Pont, where kayaks and one- or two-person canoes are available for rent. From here you can take a nice trip of about 14 kilometers downstream on the river Sûre. Reservations are recommended.
There are several short and long bicycle and mountain bike routes to explore from the campsite. We do not rent bikes at the campsite, but there is a rental location in a village down the road where bicycles, e-bikes, mountain bikes and child seats are available for rent.
Cycling in Luxembourg is generally safe, but in rural areas there are not bike paths everywhere and routes can be hilly. It is therefore important to take precautions such as wearing a helmet, choosing a suitable route and bringing good bikes. For children under 12, a bicycle helmet is mandatory in Luxembourg.
The breathtaking landscape is also excellent to explore by motorcycle. Motorcycling on Luxembourg's clean and well-maintained roads is a real pleasure. The campsite is located along the Ardennes-Eiffel motorcycle route, which, as the name suggests, runs from the Belgian Ardennes to the German Eiffel. Our campsite is the ideal base for motorcyclists, whether you are passing through or want to spend a weekend.
Nearby, there are plenty of possibilities for water fun. The nearest swimming pool nearby is Aqua Nat’Our in Hosingen, with an indoor pool and a small outdoor pool for summer use. At the nearby Camping Kaul in Wiltz, there is also an outdoor pool with a large meadow. There is also a nice outdoor swimming pool in Vianden and beautiful natural lakes at Weiswampach and Esch-sur-Sûre.
Fishing is allowed in Luxembourg, but rules and permits apply. Fishing is not allowed on our campsite. The nearest fishing location is at the campsite Reilerweier, where trout, among others, can be caught. On site it is possible to rent a fishing rod, and a permit is not required. At campsite Du Nord, fishing is permitted in the River Sûre, which flows past the campsite. This requires a fishing license, which can be purchased on site.
